It’s no secret that college students generally have TERRIBLE eating habits, and it’s starting to really catch up with them.
A new report found that 47.7% of college students at the campus studied are obese or overweight.
Yikes.
Said the study coordinator, Lisa Scholotterhausen:
“Our study mirrors the national trend we’ve seen when it comes to a drastic increase in obesity. We weren’t surprised to learn that our students are battling problems with weight.”
The study found that a lack of healthy options in cafeterias were a big part of the problem.
Scholotterhausen continued:
“We believe college students are at a transitional part of their life. If we can help students make better choices now, it should help them make better choices in their future.”
Most colleges have programs set up to promote healthy eating — if you├óΓé¼Γäóre a student, make the extra effort to learn how to take care of yourself!
