We previously mentioned that New Jersey was taking steps to prevent minors from using tanning booths.
The Assembly’s Women and Children Committee passed the measure by a 5-0 vote, banning anyone under the age of 18 from using tanning beds.
Then the motion went to the full Assembly and was approved 58-7!
So now it heads to the Senate for consideration.
If it passes, parents will have to give written consent for kids 14-17 to get even a spray tan!
That may be a bit extreme but at least all of this is a step in the right direction.
One more round until people like Tanning Mom can no longer put their children in harm’s way.
