UVA Lacrosse Player Sentenced To 23 Years For Murder

George Huguely has just been sentenced to 23 years in prison for beating his ex-girlfriend, Yeardley Love, to death in an argument.
The former UVA Lacrosse player had been convicted in February of second-degree murder by a jury.
He even admitted to having a fight with her that got physical, but denied he ever meant to kill her.
It’s too bad he didn’t get even more time — regardless of “meaning” to kill someone, if you beat them to death, we feel like that’s a special kind of violence that can’t be chalked up to accident.
We guess we should be glad that he’s going away at all, but he didn’t even get the maximum 26 years that the jury recommended!
