McDonald’s sales had dropped 2.2% in October, so they stayed open on Thanksgiving.
And wouldn’t you know it, their sales climbed 2.5% in November!
So of course they’d like to try it again, to make even more money this holiday season.
That’s right, they want locations to stay open on Christmas day!!
Say whaaaat??
An internal McDonald’s memo said:
“Starting with Thanksgiving, ensure your restaurants are open throughout the holidays. Our largest holiday opportunity as a system is Christmas Day. Last year, [company-operated] restaurants that opened on Christmas averaged $5,500 in sales.”
Basically, if even half of all the McDonald’s locations stayed open on Christmas, they could easily rake in an extra $40 MILLION!
That’s a whole lotta dough!
Hopefully there are enough employees who don’t celebrate Christmas.
Or they’re paying triple overtime or something!!
