Glee’s resident diva has a soft spot for furry friends!
Lea Michele told sources that in her spare time, when she has some, she is a protecter and rescuer of animals! She told an adorable story of how one day after rehearsals, she found six stray kittens on the Paramount Studios lot. Once she rounded them up, she got to work finding good homes for the, giving one to co-star Heather Morris and keeping two for herself. She noted that they “probably would have been eaten.”
No doubt!
But the heroic efforts didn’t end there. Lea then recalls doing a shoot out in Long Beach, CA and finding a poor pup left tied off to a fence. She explained:
“I made the people at Glee send the dog to the vet, and we had him cleaned up.”
That’s how a diva gets things done! The pooch ended up becoming the new friend of Lea’s other co-star, Harry Shum. After all her efforts, Lea doesn’t see her help as such a big deal. She explains:
“I’m a really big animal lover. My mother always said, ‘Stand for something, or [you’ll] fall for everything.’ I feel like [animals] don’t have a voice.”
Good for you! We’re so pleased to hear someone so thoughtful is looking out for those who are so helpless!
