Genetically Altered Fish? Really?

How does genetically engineered fish sound to you? Good enough to eat?
That’s what engineers who are working on creating larger salmon hope.
The FDA will soon decide on whether to approve restaurants and supermarkets to sell genetically altered salmon.
The fish, called Aqua Advantage, would become the first genetically engineered animal sold for consumption. The modified salmon was created to grow twice as large as fresh salmon.
Also, the FDA did find that the altered fish is safe to eat, but if allowed for sale, the new fish would not require a special label telling you it’s been altered.
Even if it is safe to eat, we think people should be warned. The same way a lot of items are labeled as organic, the altered salmon should be labeled at genetically altered.
