Thursday was the first day of the Crufts four day long dog show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
During the four-day competition nearly 22,000 dogs (lot’a bitches) and their owners will vie for a variety of accolades, ultimately seeking the coveted ‘Best In Show.’
The UK dog show is unlike most American dog shows. Aside from breeding (not our fav), the Crufts show features competition in jumping, agility, and obedience.
Crufts is even holding a special event for “Dog Heros.”
Amongst the final five dog heroes are dog which helped save lives in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake and the 7/7 London bombings, and dogs which have helped turn around the lives of their owners with life-limiting conditions.
