Saarai (pronounced “sorry”) gave birth to a baby calf Monday.
The calf marks the first camel birth at the Cincinnati Zoo in nearly 30 YEARS!
Staffers noticed Saarai displaying unusual behavior, starting with restlessness in the morning and steady pacing in the afternoon.
Her exhibit was blocked off to the public and around 3:15, Saarai and the world said hello to a baybay boy!
Papa Humphrey also watched from his exhibit next door.
The zoo is holding a naming contest (HERE) where the public can choose between Henry, Lyn, and Cain.
Congrats, gurl!
