Fourteen Year Old Student Gets Busted...By The Hug Police

WTF is going on in Florida?!
Nick Martinez innocently hugged his best gal pal at his middle school in Palm Bay and was suspended for a day when he was caught by his principal. The poor boy was shocked when he was told that he would serve a one-day-in-school suspension.
Martinez said the following:

“Honestly, I didn’t know, because I didn’t think hugging was a bad thing. I didn’t know you could get suspended for it. A lot of friends are hugging. I just happened to be the one caught doing it.”

Punished for a hug?! Seriously?! Martinez’s mom is also upset and is fighting to have the school board change its policy and remove the suspension from her son’s record.
