Earlier, we told you about Jodie Foster‘s dad Lucius Foster who was facing 20 years for swindling the elderly out of thousands of dollars, claiming he’d build them low-cost homes.
As we said, he was convicted of 25 counts of grand theft and 10 counts of contracting without a license, all misdemeanors.
More details have come out as to exactly how he was scamming these poor homebuyers.
Sources say he collected a $5,000 down payment from each person and promised them he would build 2,000 square-foot modular homes made from 40-foot Chinese shipping containers.
Since 2005, he’d been soliciting customers and was named the “Bernie Madoff of Sherman Oaks.”
Yikes.
The Deputy City Attorney said:
“Not one of these homes has ever been built in the city of Los Angeles. It’s all a big scam.”
Foster claims he is innocent, however, and insists there was no scam. He alleges that he was trying to solve the city’s housing problem by building solar-heated three-bedroom, two-bath homes for less than $100,000.
But if no homes were built, but he still took money from those people, then YES, THIS IS WHAT A SCAM IS.
Wonder what Jodie thinks of this… If she even talks to her dad at all…
