It’s always refreshing when celebrities use their talent and influence to promote a good cause, and that’s exactly what comedian and Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari is currently doing.
After reading this truly harrowing article in Rolling Stone about one Mississippi town├óΓé¼Γäós extreme high rate of teen suicides – a majority of which had to do with sexual orientation – Aziz was moved to action.
Ansari put on a sold-out, impromptu show to benefit Justin’s Gift, an LGBT organization set up by the mother of Justin Aaborg who was one of the Mississippi teens who committed suicide.
The response was so positive, Ansari decided to do another, but this time on a larger scale with a more impressive line up.
The second benefit will be held tomorrow night at Largo, Los Angeles and features Hannibal Buress, Nick Kroll, and Chelsea Peretti, among others.
This is truly inspirational. Aziz – you set the bar for the rest of ’em!
