Sarah Polley Is The Result Of Her Mother's Affair

Sarah Polley just revealed that she’s the result of an affair her mother, Diane Polley, had back in the ’70s.
We say she’s the WONDERFUL result — Sarah is one of the best filmmakers out there, and despite how you feel about her mother cheating, we’re glad she’s here.
Here’s how she brought it to light:

“My father’s response to this staggering piece of news was extraordinary. He has always been a man who responds to things in unusual ways, for better or for worse. He was shocked, but not angry. His chief concern, almost immediately, was that my siblings and I not put any blame on my mother for her straying outside of their marriage.├óΓé¼┬¥

Her mother died when she was just 11 years old.
She continued:

“I had met my biological father almost by accident, though I had long suspected based on family jokes and rumors that my mother may have had an affair that led to my conception├óΓé¼┬ª I desperately want, at least while the film is on the festival circuit, to have people experience and write about the film before the story ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ or to experience the many stories that this story has become as opposed to just my version of it. It is, after all, why I made the film in the first place.”

Her latest film is called Stories We Tell, and it’s a documentary that involves these subjects.
She also said she wouldn’t do any media interviews until after people had seen it — so they wouldn’t go in with her story before the documentary’s story.
