We mentioned that Bruce Wayne was going to meet his end as Batman in the new issue of the comic book.
He did not ‘retire’ as some speculated he would.
Bruce was killed by a man named Simon Hurt who posed as his thought-to-be deceased daddy.
Hurt is actually the leader of the ‘shady’ Black Glove organisation.
Simon claims to Bruce/Batman that he’s Dr. Thomas Wayne. He told the caped crusader that he faked his own death when Bruce was a child.
Batman apparently dies when he tries to stop the faux dad from escaping by helicopter.
Story writer Grant Morrison said, ├óΓé¼┼ôThis is so much better than death. People have killed characters in the past but to me, that kind of ends the story! I like to keep the story twisting and turning. So what I am doing is a fate worse than death. Things that no one would expect to happen to these guys at all. This is the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman.”
But, Batman will carry on.
One of the guys who acted as boy wonder, Robin, will probably take over.
Guess we’ll all just have to wait and see!
