This is absolutely devastating news.
Ten members of the Mexican banda music group La Reyna Monterrey were reportedly killed, while another five were injured, in a horrific car accident in northern Mexico early Saturday morning as they returned from playing a gig in Nuevo Laredo.
According to authorities, the van’s driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel, which caused the vehicle to strike another truck, cross into another lane, and crash head on with a tractor-trailer.
Further, the impact of the accident was so intense that many of the band members were thrown from the van and onto the highway between Nuevo Laredo and Monterrey.
Just heartwrenching. We can’t even imagine how terrifying this whole ordeal must have been.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the friends, family, and loves ones of the lives lost, as well as those left behind and injured.
