Linda Ronstadt Has Been Battling Parkinson's Disease, No Longer Able To Sing

Linda Ronstadt is no longer able to sing.

We’ll let that sink in for a moment, because that would be devastating for someone who has made their life all about singing. She’s best known for songs You’re No Good and When Will I Be Loved, and she just revealed her diagnosis and battle with Parkinson’s to AARP.

She was having problems with her voice when she sought the medical advice but now, this is what she said:

“Parkinson’s is very hard to diagnose, so when I finally went to a neurologist and he said, ‘Oh, you have Parkinson’s disease,’ I was completely shocked. I wouldn’t have suspected that in a million, billion years.”

This was just 8 months ago, and she now even needs help walking sometimes — and cannot sing anymore.

She continued:

”No one can sing with Parkinson’s disease. No matter how hard you try.”

This is just so awful to hear. We hope she finds the right balance of meds and can continue her life even without singing — because we already know she’s strong enough to fight it.
