Looks like although Loki has lived in a galaxy far, far away a long time ago, it doesn’t look like he’ll be traveling to a different one via lightspeed.
In a recent interview, Tom Hiddleston talked about the prospect of getting offered a role in the new and upcoming Star Wars film, and how it’s not exactly a new hope:
“Well, that hasn├óΓé¼Γäót happened yet. It├óΓé¼Γäód be very flattering, of course…I imagine they├óΓé¼Γäóre looking for people who don├óΓé¼Γäót have an association elsewhere. The audience need to believe in the character, rather than saying, ├óΓé¼╦£Oh look, it├óΓé¼Γäós Loki with a lightsaber!'”
Um, first of all, if we were to be given a final draft of Star Wars: Episode VII, and the only words written on it were “Loki with a lightsaber,” we’d still see that movie.
We might even find it more enjoyable than Episodes I-III.
Tom, you don’t have to play a bad guy in the film either! You could play one of the leads, a droid…or even the one-eyed monster in the Death Star trash compactor! You can pull anything off you’re that good of an actor.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we need to combine the images of Loki and a certain one-eyed monster. Wink!
