Drake isn’t usually one for a battle of words, but when Jay Z‘s involved it├óΓé¼Γäós a different story!
You may recall that Drizzy first dissed Hova in his Rolling Stone article, and Jay came back at him with a verse in a remix of the song We Made It.
Well, the 27-year-old rapper took another shot back at the lyrical legend during the Toronto Raptors game.
It’s no secret that Jay was involved with the Brooklyn Nets, but as the global ambassador for Canada’s only NBA team, Drake felt like it was time for some old fashioned sh*t talking, as the teams met in round one of the playoffs!
While talking with the announcers, the Trophies rapper threw serious shade at his girlfriend Rihanna’s mentor, saying:
“Jay Z is somewhere eating a fondue plate├óΓé¼┬ª It’s our time, we got to keep it competitive. It’s an ironic matchup.”
In the world of sports, this could just be goodnatured ribbing — because since Jay Z isn├óΓé¼Γäót an owner of the Nets anymore, he didn├óΓé¼Γäót need to be there!
It’s still weird that Drake would go out of his way criticize Hov for basically no reason, though!
Play nice, guys!
