Standardized testing is a big deal in New York public schools.
Every student, from third grade on, has to undergo a standardized test each year, and it can decide where some students go to high school and even middle school.
The standards of these standardized tests are implemented by the Common Core which its website defines as “a set of clear college- and career-ready standards for kindergarten through 12th grade in English language arts/literacy and mathematics”.
But the people’s champion Louis C.K. thinks it’s all a bunch of bullsh*t, and is also the reason why math now makes his daughters cry! A subject which they used to love!

We absolutely agree with Louie!
Especially considering that his daughters are in third grade! If the Common Core wants to regulate what high schoolers should know — that’s a wee bit more easy to swallow than them telling folks what a third grader should know at that point.
We doubt they even remember what THEY knew when they were that age!
