What a miracle!
This 19-month old cutie is coming home from the hospital after being being seriously hurt by a SWAT flash grenade that landed in his crib!
Bounkham Phonesavanh was in his playpen on May 28th when the blast occurred just inches away from him! Law enforcement officials were in the middle of a drug raid but the man they were looking for didn’t even live at that address!
Baby Bou Bou (as he is known now) suffered from a brain injury and had to be put in a coma by doctors. His face was also severely disfigured.
But this week, Bou Bou walked out of the hospital on his own with a big smile on his face! Such a great sight to see!
The toddler underwent several successful surgeries, but his family’s lawyer says he still has a long road to recovery left. Mawuli Davis explained the ordeal that Bou Bou and his parents have been through in the past month and what they can expect now, saying:
“He had to re-learn how to walk so to see him walk out of the hospital this morning was a miracle. His face still has significant scarring, and there will be some need in the future for more plastic surgery.├óΓé¼┬¥
Obviously Bou Bou’s mom and dad are irate that police officers are the ones responsible for this awful mistake. Legal action is expected.
But we’re so relieved that this little guy is going to be okay!
You’re incredible, kiddo!
