We couldn’t believe it when we found out Miss Delaware had been stripped of her Miss America title for being too old!
And to find out it was all just a clerical error? So sad!
Well, it turns out the Miss America people REALLY need to get their shiz together this year, because Delaware wasn’t the only state that lost its Miss America this week!
Elizabeth Fechtel was just crowned Miss Florida but less than a week after her magical moment, all that was taken away. Why?
Because of a “tabulation error.” It seems the scorekeepers had done their math wrong, and the Miss Florida title actually should have gone to runner-up Victoria Cowen!
But unlike Miss Delaware, the former Miss Florida isn’t fighting the decision. In fact, she’s already thinking about her successor! She said:
“I’m sorry she didn’t get her crowning moment, because that was a wonderful moment. She deserved to have that.”
Talk about pageantry poise! If it was up to us, we’d give her bonus points just for her great attitude!
But srsly, Miss America! Get it together, gurl!
