Was Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 shot down??
The jet crashed in an area where the Ukrainian military has been facing off with rebel forces.
Shockingly, there have been some early reports claiming that the plane was hit by a surface-to-air rocket.
Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko has responded to these rumors, denying that his military forces had anything to do with the tragedy. He said:
“We do not exclude that this plane was shot down, and we stress that the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not take action against any airborne targets.”
It sounds like Poroshenko isn’t entirely sure that the shooting reports are unfounded; he’s just trying to clear his own men.
If the plane was shot down, this horrible tragedy may be even worse than we know.
