Julia Roberts recently appeared on Today where Matt Lauer conducted an interview with the world famous star for a segment that aired on August 1st.
And although Julia had our ears prickling with all of the information she was sharing – we did notice the lack of talk about her half sister Nancy Motes and her unfortunate suicide that happened on February 9th.
Instead the interview, the first between these two in about 7 years, was rather light and touched upon Julia’s working life and her family life, and how the star usually does her best to keep the two separate!
Those points were exemplified especially when Matt Lauer asked her this:
“Do they have a full understanding that they’re the children of Julia Roberts?”
And here’s how Julia responded:
“I think they have a firm understanding that they are children of parents in show business. When Mirror Mirror came out, all of the kids in their class saw it and I wouldn’t let them see it. So they felt that they were being penalized for being my children. Well, I’m not very pleasant in that movie. I don’t want to scare you.”
Even though her children are part of the reason she’s not on the big screen as much as she has been in the past – Julia wouldn’t change her situation for anything in the world!
She knows she’s done her time to earn the right to raise her family! She said:
“I’m really proud of what I’ve accomplished in my career. By [the time I had children] I felt I had really earned staying home with my kids and being with my family.”
We’re sure her husband Daniel Moder and her children Hazel, Phinnaeus, and Henry all appreciate as much Julia time as they can get!
We know we do!
