Uh oh!
Someone may be in trouble!
Gwyneth Paltrow may be embroiled in some legal issues these coming days after her website Goop was slapped with a lawsuit!
A person named Charles Platkin is suing Gwyneth’s company for infringing on his copyrighted phrase ├óΓé¼┼ôDiet Detective├óΓé¼┬¥ in an article on the website.
The lawsuit was filed this past July 17th and it alleges that Goop used enrolled “deliberate and unconscionable actions in infringing on Plaintiff’s trademarks.”
The article that Charles Platkin is referring to went as:
“Today on goop: Diet Detective/Nutritionist Kelly Dorfman takes the mystery out of what might be plaguing our systems—and presents a program for picky eaters.”
Charles Platkin has written various book using the “Diet Detective” trademark and he claims all of his attempts to phone the company to get his due money ├óΓé¼┼ôfor the value of infringed-upon trademark├óΓé¼┬ªwere all ignored and/or dismissed├óΓé¼┬ª.├óΓé¼┬¥
Gwyneth’s Goop website has had its share of problems already, so we wouldn’t be surprised if it peters out eventually.
Especially if Charles Platkin – who is seeking the court to ban Gwyneth from using trademark expression ever again on her website as well as monetary damages – wins this case.
Although it’s still way too early in this matter to predict what’s going to happen in the future!
