This stuff should be going into a museum!

Peace activist Mahatma Gandhi‘s trademark leather sandals, steel-rimmed glasses, his watch, and a bowl and plate he used will be auctioned in New York on March 5th.

According to reports, the Zenith pocket watch dates to about 1910 and was given by Gandhi to his beloved grandniece Abha Gandhi, in whose arms he died when he was assassinated in January 1948.

The Gandhi items are expected to make the auction house somewhere between $20,000 and $30,000 – but likely much more.

Hope whoever successfully bids on the stuff will be inclined to share it with the world rather than just locking it up in a vault somewhere!
