What a special day for Camila Alves and her family!
On Tuesday, Matthew McConaughey and his wife took to social media to share the great news that the model is now officially a United States citizen.
Alves, a native Brazilian, decided to remain in the U.S. at age 15 after visiting an aunt in California. With little to no English speaking abilities, the mother of three worked as a maid and a waitress for four years before finding better opportunities.

So adorable! We’re so glad the entire brood came out for the event — it reminds us of the time McConaughey received his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in November of 2014. This fam is on fire!
Congrats, Camila!
