Tess Holliday Addresses Victoria's Secret's Unrealistic Standards & The Claims That She's Glorifying Obesity

Tess Holliday addresses some of her biggest headlines.
Tess Holliday
has “yahoo’d” herself!
It sounds dirty, but it’s really not.
The groundbreaking plus-size model appears on an episode of Yahoo Style to talk about some of her biggest headlines of the past year.

And as usual she looks incredible in a black dress with lace-up neckline and her signature red hair done up in a retro wavy style.
Talk first turns to her condemnation of Victoria’s Secret and the message they send with their very particular looking models:

“They are perpetuating the image of what’s wrong with America and with society, in general, that you have to look a certain way ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ like a Victoria’s Secret Angel ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ to feel beautiful and be sexy.”

Tess also addresses critics who say she’s glorifying obesity:

“Which is like saying that if someone is a darker skin tone or someone is gay you’re glorifying that lifestyle. That’s who you are. Obviously someone doesn’t wake up fat. I know that I am fat, but people completely miss the point of me trying to educate women and show them that it’s ok to be who you are and love yourself and still live your life and not be miserable.”

And don’t forget about her upcoming clothing line:

“I wanted to do something that was edgy and sexy but then give some options for people who don’t want to wear the same tired floral, leopard, cat-print stuff. There have been the most atrocious prints on plus-size garments that would never be on straight sizes.”

Right on!
