Ryan Reynolds has been in tons of romantic comedies, but his R-rated superhero action-comedy Deadpool certainly isn’t one of them!
Still, the raunchy superhero flick is releasing on Valentine’s Day, which creates the perfect opportunity for misleading marketing!

A new banner ad for Deadpool was released, featuring Wade Wilson (Reynolds) and Vanessa Carlyle aka Copycat (Morena Baccarin) looking like they’re straight out of a Nicholas Sparks movie:

Seriously, if we didn’t know any better, we’d think this was a poster for Reynolds’ 2008 rom-com Definitely, Maybe! LOLz!
The faux tagline “Love Never Dies” is not only appropriately corny, but it plays on the anti-hero’s regenerative powers — he can basically never die for real!
One thing’s for sure — we can expect a completely different tone when Deadpool hits theaters February 12!
