Tom Brady isn’t going anywhere.
The loyal New England Patriots quarterback signed a contract extension with his team through the 2019 season! The 38-year-old’s new terms will also protect him from any potential penalty in the NFL‘s Deflategate appeal.
For both the 2016 and 2017 seasons, the pro’s base salary will drop down to $1 million, which is a pretty steep decline from his previous rate of $9 million.

However, that’s actually a good thing.
This way, if he does get a four-game suspension in the scandal’s appeal — even though this astute seventh grader pretty much proved his innocence — he won’t be losing as much money.
This Boston Globe reporter did the math so we don’t have to! Take a look (below)!

And besides, for the 2018 and 2019 seasons, the amazing athlete’s base salary will jump up to $14 million. Plus, he’s getting a $28 million signing bonus for all of this!
After crunching the numbers, this is turning out to be quite a raise for Mr. Brady! The sports star was only supposed to make $19 million over the next two seasons, but with this new contract he’ll be hauling a whopping $30 million!
Looks like Tom wins on AND off the field!
