All good things must come to an end, we suppose, and we just got confirmation that Vampire Diaries is fitting that bill right now.

According to star Ian Somerhalder at the Walker Stalker Con in Nashville on Sunday, the show IS going to end with season 8.
The star spoke to fans, saying:
“We have decided to do one last season to really do the story justice.”
Awww!!

Of course, the show is marching towards its May finale for season seven right now… and will have one more go of it after that.
Inevitable for all TV shows, of course… but sad!
