We’ve just lost yet another icon.
It’s with great sadness that we must report that legendary actor Gene Wilder has passed away at the age of 83 on Monday.
His family confirmed the tragic news to AP shortly after 3 p.m. EST, although it’s currently unclear exactly what happened.
Gene was known for his work on both the stage and screen, starring in films such as The Producers, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, The Silver Streak, and See No Evil, Hear No Evil.
But he’ll forever be remembered as the title character from 1971’s psychedelic children’s musical Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
We will continue to update you as more details surface…
Rest in peace, Gene.
