Scarlett Johansson‘s directorial debut has been dropped from New York, I Love You.
Comprised of several shorts from a variety of directors, I Love You revolves around a theme of love in the Big Apple.
But, contrary to what we’d like to believe, ScarJo’s piece – shot in black and white and following an OCD Kevin Bacon who finds inner peace with a hot dog on Coney Island – wasn’t actually that bad, it just didn’t fit in thematically. There’s not that much dialogue and it’s…different.
But the short isn’t about to die on the cutting room floor. It will be used as part of the film’s promotional material, alongside a piece from Russian filmmaker Andrei Zvyagintsev which also didn’t make it into the final version.
