Someone’s lying… and it probably isn’t Canada’s sweetheart Justin Trudeau.
In audio obtained overnight by NBC News, you can hear Donald Trump admitting to made up facts about the United States running a trade deficit with Canada without knowing whether that was actually the case. The Office of the United States Trade Representative says the U.S. has a trade surplus (not deficit) with Canada.
Once again… POTUS is the source of fake news.

Imitating Trudeau at a recent fundraiser for Missouri Republican Senate candidate Josh Hawley, Trump recalled the prime minister insisting during a meeting that the U.S. does not have a trade deficit with Canada:
“Trudeau came to see me. He’s a good guy, Justin. He said, ├óΓé¼╦£No, no, we have no trade deficit with you, we have none. Donald, please.’ Nice guy, good-looking guy, comes in ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ ├óΓé¼╦£Donald, we have no trade deficit.’ He’s very proud because everybody else, you know, we’re getting killed … So, he’s proud. I said, ├óΓé¼╦£Wrong, Justin, you do.’ I didn’t even know. … I had no idea. I just said, ├óΓé¼╦£You’re wrong.’ You know why? Because we’re so stupid. ├óΓé¼┬ª And I thought they were smart. I said, ├óΓé¼╦£You’re wrong, Justin.’ He said, ├óΓé¼╦£Nope, we have no trade deficit.’ I said, ├óΓé¼╦£Well, in that case, I feel differently,’ I said, ├óΓé¼╦£but I don’t believe it.’ I sent one of our guys out, his guy, my guy, they went out, I said, ├óΓé¼╦£Check, because I can’t believe it.’ ├óΓé¼╦£Well, sir, you’re actually right. We have no deficit, but that doesn’t include energy and timber. ├óΓé¼┬ª And when you do, we lose $17 billion a year.’ It’s incredible.”

Once the news broke, he tweeted on Thursday:
We do have a Trade Deficit with Canada, as we do with almost all countries (some of them massive). P.M. Justin Trudeau of Canada, a very good guy, doesn├óΓé¼Γäót like saying that Canada has a Surplus vs. the U.S.(negotiating), but they do…they almost all do…and that├óΓé¼Γäós how I know!
