The cancellation of Chris Hardwick has commenced.
The TV host and nerd culture icon has been wiped clean from the Nerdist website, the entertainment company he co-founded in 2012, after many people began speculating he was the subject of his ex-girlfriend’s emotional and sexual abuse accusations.
As we reported, actress Chloe Dykstra penned an emotional essay to Medium on Thursday detailing the abuse she suffered while dating a man nearly 20 years older than her. She didn’t name the ex, but described him as someone who went from “podcaster to a powerhouse CEO of his own company.”

Now every reference to Hardwick, a podcaster who became a powerhouse CEO of his own company, has been removed from said company’s website by parent company Legendary Entertainment.
A Legendary spokesperson said in a statement Friday:
“Chris Hardwick had no operational involvement with Nerdist for the two years preceding the expiration of his contract in December 2017. He no longer has any affiliation with Legendary Digital Networks. The company has removed all reference to Mr. Hardwick even as the original Founder of Nerdist pending further investigation.”
Hardwick is the CEO of Nerdist Industries, which was acquired by Legendary in 2012. He’s also 20 years older than Dykstra, whom he dated from late 2011 to July 2014.
Before The Talking Dead host’s bio was removed, the site stated that he “currently serves as founder, CEO, and creative head of Nerdist Industries, a media empire under the Legendary Digital Network that encompasses the Nerdist.com website, YouTube channel, and Hardwick’s incredibly successful Nerdist Podcast, which he continues to host and garners over 6.9M downloads per month.”
Hardwick has yet to respond to Dykstra’s allegations. We’ll keep you updated on this developing story.
