Elvis Costello needs to take some time off.
The post-punk icon was forced to cancel the rest of his European summer tour so he can recover from his recent surgery for a “small but very aggressive” cancerous tumor.
The 63-year-old musician broke the news to fans on Friday, revealing that he’s been “strongly advised” to take a break from his touring schedule and rest.

Though he confirmed “all the remaining engagements” of his tour — including concerts in Britain, Croatia, Austria, Norway, and Sweden — were scrapped, he vowed to “return at the soonest opportunity.”
Costello also urged fans to see their doctors if they had any symptoms they were worried about, adding that a simple checkup “may save your life.”
