A 3-year-old Texas boy died after he was left behind in a hot day care van following a field trip on Thursday.
According to local reports, the child’s father arrived at Discovering Me Academy at around 7 p.m. to pick up the child, only to find his son unresponsive in the van.
School records show that the boy had been listed as accounted for among the 28 children when the group returned to the daycare after the trip. Sadly, there was a deadly oversight.

Police said it appeared the child spent at least four hours inside the vehicle, where temperatures reached at least 113 degrees. After EMS officials worked on the boy, the child was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Two people, the driver and a chaperone, were detained for questioning. Officials are investigating the matter.
So sad and so completely avoidable!
