Bryan Singer, the man behind the X-Men movies, Superman Returns, and Valkrie, is very close to a deal to produce and possibly direct a brand-new Battlestar Galactica feature film.
The project had been discussed almost eight years ago, but because of the tragedy of 9/11, the film never made it to life. (As we understand it, a big part of the movie was a colossal sneak attack from the bad guys, so the studio got nervous and axed the flick.)
Now, after the cult success of the TV show version, Universal Studios sees potential in a film franchise and is looking to have Bryan bring it to life.
However, no details about the flick have been released other than Bryan’s creative attachment and it is unclear if Bryan will use his original concepts for the film or go in a new direction.
