Fighting Over MJ's Wigs!

Even after his death, anything related to Michael Jackson seems to be worth money.

And companies are willing to sue if you threaten to take their Jackson business away.

R.H. Smith & Sons is one of the largest wig manufacturing companies around for over a century. But recently another company, Rubie’s Costume Company, has been trying to take some of their business.

Rubie’s has been emailing potential buyers claiming they have exclusive worldwide rights to market and sell all Jackson wigs, costumes and accessories.

However, according to a lawsuit filed in New York’s federal court by R.H. Smith, that’s just not true.

In fact, Smith & Sons claims that under their license from MJ Licensing LLC, they are allowed to market the wigs and anything related to Jackson. They also state that Rubie’s false claims to exclusivity has done them damage.

So in turn, they want to prohibit Rubie’s from the claims and also want them to get in touch with everyone they’ve been in contact with recently and let them know they aren’t the exlcusive sellers. Smith & Sons is also claiming for damages. Big surprise.

But who knew there was even such a high demand for Jackson wigs? Does this mean a large number of Jackson look-a-likes will be out and about this Halloween?
