The New And Improved Coney Island

New York City has revealed its plan for a new amusement park in Coney Island scheduled to open this May.

Luna Park at Coney Island will have 19 rides including two roller coasters, a human slingshot and go-karts.

“Coney Island remains one of the most known and beloved neighborhoods around the world,” said Mayor Bloomberg. “But for decades its famed amusement park has just dwindled to just a tiny fraction of what it once was. This summer, we’re reversing the trend.”

Luna Park is part of NYC’s Coney Island Revitalization Plan which is hoping to create jobs while preserving and growing the historic area.
