Shakira saw the devastation of the Haitian earthquake firsthand as she arrived in Port-au-Prince on Sunday. She visited a golf course that has been turned into a makeshift camp for over 50,000 survivors.
The Columbian singer was there to search for land to build a school for needs children. And it’s nothing the humanitarian hasn’t done before!
She runs that Barefoot foundation, which provides nutrition to more than 6,000 Columbian children in Colombia and Shakira is also is member of the ALAS foundation that advocates for children across Latin America.
It’s just too bad the first person she saw in Haiti was Sean Penn! Guess you can’t win ’em all!
