Famous romance novelist Danielle Steel‘s bookkeeper of almost 20 years, Kristy Watts, has plead guilty to stealing up to $768,000 from her boss by manipulating the financial accounts she was supposed to be keeping record of!
Apparently, Watts modified the payroll to pay herself an extra salary and pocketed cash she recorded as payments to fake vendors. She even used Steel’s credit card rewards points to buy gift cards and plane tickets for herself!
That’s seriously effed. What makes someone think that that’s okay??
However, we doubt that girl will ever touch another thing that’s not hers again, because she has been sentenced to almost three years in prison on top of having to reimburse Steel almost $1 million and the government $60,000 in taxes. She is also required to do 400 hours of community service!
Ouch!
