“The Florida Breast Health Initiative
FBHI├óΓé¼Γäós strategy focuses on a grassroots approach. FBHI targets working neighborhoods likely to have the highest concentration of the uninsured and underserved. We then conduct door to door outreach providing free breast health awareness, free tools to perform monthly breast self examinations, then culminate that campaign with a neighborhood visit from a mobile mammography van to provide free mammograms to women who qualify. Where mobile mammography is not available, referrals to sites providing low or no cost mammograms will be offered. Follow up referrals and support are given to those women requiring additional assistance as a result of our outreach.”
