So long, Wistera Lane! Hello Texas!
It’s been a long-standing tradition for ABC to take shows from other countries and develop them into English-language remakes. Many, like Ugly Betty, have proven to be smash hits for the network. That’s why ABC as decided to greenlight a remake of Soy Tu Due├â┬▒a, a huge telenovela from Mexico.
ABC’s verision will focus on a Texas heiress who loses all her money and is forced to go back to her toos, working on a ranch she grew up on. Jorge Zamacona will serve as a wrier, producer and showrunner alongside Eva Longoria, who will also executive produce the show.
Oh, and while the literal translation of the show’s title means “I’m Your Owner,” ABC is going with another translation: “A Woman Of Steel.”
Hmm. Wonder who that woman will be! Any chance Eva might just say, “What the hell!” and do it herself? Maybe, maybe?!
