The judge in the Sandusky sex abuse trial has made another ruling, this time saying that the young men accusing Sandusky of abuse cannot use pseudonyms during the trial.
We can understand how these boys could be ashamed or embarrassed, but it’s not their fault, and they need to do whatever is necessary to make sure justice is served.
Another ruling the judge issued was that reporters couldn’t tweet or use other forms of electronic communication during the trial.
Sandusky’s lawyers also requested that the attorney general’s office turn over information about potential jurors.
The judge shut down that request too, saying:
“Even if the commonwealth collected the information in this case in the manner the defense asserts and which the commonwealth denies, I do not believe that the information is constitutionally required to be turned over to the defense.”
Really looks like Sandusky’s lawyers have an uphill battle.
We hope this trial finally gets underway so the poor young men who suffered the alleged abuse can get on with their lives.
