When asked about preparing for the role of Sheriff Bob Lilly, Hickman revealed the emotional depth he needed to connect with the character. “Playing Sheriff Bob Lilly is kind of emotional,” he shared. “He is torn between doing what’s right and fighting against the authority of the DEA.”
Hickman described his favorite scene in the film, “Luke and I have a heart-to-heart after I drop him off at the cemetery. The director let me see a couple of my scenes before, and I’m really proud of that one.”
The production took place in a familiar setting for Hickman; the film was shot just a few minutes from his home in Alabama. He recounted the unique experience of filming close to home, which added to the film’s emotional intensity and authenticity. He expressed gratitude for being able to work so close to his roots, making the project even more meaningful to him.
