Adam Sandler was honored to play such an important role in Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding.
Swifties were shocked when they learned the couple’s ceremony was led “by friend Adam Sandler.” It was so unexpected! While the actor makes a living off of being a jokester, he took this role SO seriously from the very start!

A source told People on Tuesday he “said yes right away,” adding:
“He was incredibly honored to be part of such a special day.”
The insider went on to say the comedian was the “perfect person” for the job because he’s “been happily married for so many years” to his wife, Jackie. He could speak from the heart about married life — and that’s exactly what he did. According to Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid, he gave the sweetest advice:
“‘Kiss her every chance you have.’ So I think that, in its own simple way, that’s a pretty good message. Kiss her before bed, kiss her before you go to work, all those things. It’s hard to argue when you’re kissing somebody. He even mentioned that if maybe you did have a small argument, to finish it with a kiss and make sure that you work it out. And as simple as that is, I thought it was wise words.”

Per People‘s source, Adam didn’t want to over-prepare for the role:
“He wasn’t trying to find the perfect words or make it this big production. He just wanted to speak from the heart and pass along a little wisdom that he’s gained from his own happy marriage.”
To prove just how relaxed he was about officiating, Adam was seen out in NYC playing basketball hours before the big moment! After working up a sweat, he picked up coffees for his family as they prepared for the wedding. So chill before the wedding of the year! Hah!
It sounds like he did not disappoint! What a cool thing to be asked to do!
