Sacramento Kings fans rejoice! It looks like your beloved basketball team is here to stay!
Adrienne Maloof‘s family, who owns the NBA franchise, had fans wondering whether or not they would be shipping the team to Seattle due to declining interest in the area. But Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson announced this afternoon that the family would be selling the Kings to someone who plans of keeping them in California!
Computer mogul Vivek Ranadive reportedly bought the team for a whopping $348 million in a NBA record-breaking deal! But not only does he plan on keeping the team in the state’s capitol, he’s going to give them a brand new arena!
Vivek is going to spend approximately $447 to give them a brand spankin’ new home right in the middle of downtown Sacramento!
WOW! This guy must REALLY love the Kings! LOLz!
While this all comes as great news for sports fans in northern California, it looks like Seattle Supersonic lovers are going to have to wait at least another year before they get their team back!
