Problems always seem to occur when money is involved. Just ask Whitney Houston!
The singer is being sued by her stepmother.
Why????
Stepmommy says Whitney owes her money and needs to pay off her condo.
The whole thing goes back to 2003 when Whitney’s father died.
Barbara Houston claims that Whitney “improperly kept the proceeds from John Houston’s $1 million insurance policy” after his death.
According to the lawsuit, Whitney was supposed to use the $723,000 to pay off the remaining mortgage on her father’s Fort Lee condominium. She apparently holds the mortgage on the condo.
Stepmom Barbara still lives in the condo and is also claiming that Whitney was, according to her dead husband’s wishes, supposed to return the remaining insurance money to her.
Attorneys for both parties have refused to comment.
Wonder why the insurance money was given to Whitney and not to her dad’s wife?
Either way, who do U think should have gotten the money?
Make sure your will explicitly expresses your wishes, y’all. Dramz like this can be avoided.
