Talk about a near-death experience!
On Monday, Instagram user Ainsley Rae posted footage shot by her boyfriend where she nearly gets hit in the head with a flying axe!

In the terrifying clip, the Arizona-native threw the tool at a target where it ricocheted off the wall, and almost struck the poor woman!
Rae added the caption:
“That axe almost got me”
She also thanked her boyfriend “for capturing this,” and she was “so glad it missed him!”

On Monday, Rae told Inside Edition she threw the axe too hard and it struck the bottom of the wall, causing it to bounce back. However, Ainsley said she and her boyfriend were not drinking at the time of the incident.
Additionally, she told the publication:
“At first I didn’t know what actually happened but then over time, watching it over and over again, I just started laughing at myself. Oh my gosh, I am so glad I didn’t get hit in the head.”
When the news outlet showed the footage to Mathew Sylvester, who runs an axe throwing venue in Brooklyn called Bury the Hatchet, he responded:
“This is so terrible… There is a little too much power in a little later in her release, otherwise she would have done fine.”
As of Tuesday afternoon, Rae’s video has nearly 133,000 views. The same video on her boyfriend’s account has over 94,000 views.
After the clip went viral, social media users were terrified, but “impressed” by her reflexes!
