Al Roker Misses Show As He Oversleeps For The First Time In 39 Years!

We’ve all been there before. Either the power went off, or the alarm on your phone was set on silent, or you accidentally hit “OK” instead of “Snooze” on your iPhone’s clock app after hearing those haunting early morning marimba tones.

Well, now Al Roker can join the exclusive club of people who have overslept work!

After the drowsy weatherman slept through his 6 am early morning show, Wake Up With Al, which could also be the name of a reality dating competition, Al — or as Matt Lauer calls him, “Rip Van Roker” — sent out this apologetic tweet:

Then later on the set of the Today show, Al made this HIGHlarious, if not a little self-deprecating, Vine:

Hey, sleeping in once every 39 years is not too bad of an attendance record. Hey, it’s not even too bad for a Guinness World Book record, either.

Catch some Zs Al, and we’ll catch you tomorrow morning bright and (hopefully not too) early!

Ch-ch-check out the the hosts of the Today show ribbing Al for his snoozing (below)!!
