According to a source close to the late Alan Rickman, the actor suffered from pancreatic cancer, one of the deadliest forms of the disease.

The insider claims Rickman learned of his tragic diagnosis after suffering from a stroke back in August. Prior to the assessment, the actor had enjoyed a June trip to New York City for the premiere of A Little Chaos and spent time celebrating the accomplishment in a popular bar.
While everyone now knows A.R. passed from cancer, only a few friends up to this point knew his specific diagnosis. It was only in December that the 69-year-old started to let more people know about his unfortunate fate.
The case of Rickman eerily parallels that of David Bowie — similarly to Alan, David was tight lipped about his cancer battle. Both of these passings came as a surprise to most fans.
Our thoughts go out to the Harry Potter star’s loved ones.
